HOW TO PUT ON YOUR FASHION TIGHTS
Welcome to your step by step guide on how to choose and wear your AVIANA legwear.
If it's your first time, we're here to talk you through the steps. The good news is, it doesn't take long to get used to it! While fashion tights make the perfect accessory, they are rather delicate. So we’ve listed 5 steps below to help you easily slip into and out of them.
STEP 1 - CHOOSING YOUR SIZE
The key step to wearing legwear is choosing the correct size. Otherwise, you're going to have trouble no matter how you try to put them on, and besides, who enjoys wearing uncomfortable clothing? AVIANA tights are sized according to your height and hips, simply match your measurements against our size chart to determine your size. If you have longer-than-average legs or you fall in between sizes, always opt for the larger of the two.
STEP 2 - PREPARING YOUR HANDS AND FEET
First things first - your fingernails are undeniably your tights’ greatest enemy. That’s why it’s best to use gloves when putting on (and removing) your fashion tights…best kept secret, trust us. Make sure you aren't wearing jewellery. You'll also want to buff any rough edges from your fingernails, toenails, hands and feet as well as moisturise your legs and feet, EXCEPT for our hold ups - Bianca (fishnets). Avoid any creams or oils when putting this pair on, dry legs are key to keeping them up.
STEP 3 - REMOVING YOUR TIGHTS FROM THEIR PACKAGING
Remove your tights from their packaging and unfold them carefully. For our Bianca (fishnets), gently remove the cardboard backing tucked inside.
STEP 4 - GATHERING YOUR TIGHTS
Firstly, take a seat, hold your tights at the waistband and gently gather each leg with your thumbs inside your tights until you’re at the toe of your tights. Next, gently slide into the tights one foot at a time. Be sure to point your toe as this will prevent snagging your tights. Gently, pull your tights up your leg, while still keeping your thumbs inside your tights to avoid snagging.
STEP 5 - PULL UP AND ADJUST YOUR TIGHTS
Stand up and continue to gently pull up your tights until the waistband is in its proper position. You can now make the necessary adjustments by gently moving the fabric into place. Your tights should be snug, but not uncomfortable. If your tights feel twisted, remove them and start again from step 4.
If you are wearing seams then use your finger to feel if it is straight. If it isn't, simply roll the stockings back down and pull them up again. Don't try and straighten the seam with your fingers, you may cause a snag. It sounds trickier than it actually is, and it does get easier the more you wear them.
For Bianca (fishnets), you may want to attach them to your favourite pair of suspenders and place them at the same level of the thigh each time you put them on as the silicone will shape to your tight. We recommend placing them from mid- top of the thigh.
